We accept several types of vision insurance, cash, checks, and most credit cards. We inform our Bedford patients about exam and treatment costs at the beginning of your appointment. Vision Insurance

The knowledgeable staff at Bedford Family Eye Care is experienced in working with vision insurance providers. We will work directly with you and your vision insurer to submit claims regarding your vision care. We strive to ensure that you understand your insurance coverage and will answer any questions you may have regarding your benefits. Many current vision plans are designed to cover many of the basic vision-related costs, but not all costs associated with eye care. Most plans often require a co-payment for an office appointment as well as additional costs that are covered by the insured patient.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Many employers are offering Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options to employees. Sometimes these are referred o as cafeteria plans and are elective, supplemental insurance savings plans. These plans are designed to let you save money in an account, pre-tax, to pay for additional medical expenses such as eye exams, glasses, contacts, and often laser vision surgery. Check with the benefits administrator at your work to see if you are eligible for this program. FSAs can typically be used in conjunction with any vision insurance plan to offset any out-of-pocket costs on your behalf.

Other Payment Options

Our Bedford optometry staff understands that cost is a concern when evaluating vision care providers. We do not want cost to be an obstacle to maintaining proper eye health and good vision. We accept most major medical and routine vision plans including, but not limited to Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Coventry Cares of Virginia, EyeMed, Humana, Medicaid, Medicare, MetLife Vision, MetLife VisionAccess, PCHP, Railroad Medicare, Superior, Tricare, United Health Care, Virginia Premier, VSP, and more. Please call if you do not see your insurance listed above as there are others not listed that we do accept.

The world of insurance continues to become more and more complex with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. We will do our best to notify you prior to your appointment if there is a problem/question pertaining to your insurance coverage, however it is your responsibility to ensure proper payment for services rendered. Payment is expected the day of services. The best policy is for you to call your insurance company to verify that we are a provider in addition to allowing us to double check for you. We are happy to assist you in this manner! We thank you in advance for your patience.

Cancellations: There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. We reserve the right to charge for last minute cancellations.

Late Policy: If you are more than 15 minutes late we may have to reschedule. If you know you will be late, please call to let us know your expected arrival.
